There are, obviously, different reasons to go on vacation. Taking a break, visiting friends of family, visiting someplace new, experiencing something different – the list goes on and on. But one reason to head out on a journey may be specifically so that you can appreciate luxury for a short amount of time at least.
So for those of you who have luxury as your goal, here are a few ways that you can make that happen – get a business class flight, create a budget three times what you would normally consider, try to find an all-inclusive trip, get a driver at your destination, or head to a less in-demand location, so the same types of luxury will cost much less.
Step Up To Business Class Flights
Flying business class is one of the first ways that you can put yourself into the luxury category when it comes to your next vacation. If you’ve ridden in coach all of your life, you’ll be amazed at how much different the experience is being in the front of the plane. Be aware that it’s intensely more expensive, so buying a business class (or first class) ticket may give you some serious sticker shock, but if luxury is what you’re aiming for, there’s your target.
Set a Budget at Three Times What You’d Normally Put In
Luxury means spending more money, and a good yardstick is that luxury experience will cost roughly three times as much as typical experiences. So, when you set your vacation budget, just adjust everything three times up, and that’s how much money you have to save before you can head out.
Look For All-Inclusive Trips
When you buy into all-inclusive trips, that tends to appeal more to the luxury crowd as well. You’ll get travel accommodations, food, tickets to events at your location, and potentially many other benefits for a single price, and it will usually be coordinated through a specialist company or agency that knows how to pamper people who want to be pampered.
Get a Driver, or at Least Avoid Renting a Car
One of the more stressful and non-luxurious aspects of any vacation comes when you have to drive yourself around, many times by renting a car and then dealing with unfamiliar streets. If you want to relax into the luxury concept, it’s important that you budget enough to purchase a driver as you need one.
Head To a Less In-Demand Location
The price of luxury is going to be different in different places, and the less in-demand a certain location is, the more your money is going to be worth. So if you find an out-of-the-way place that still has luxury capability, that should be first on your list in terms of potential vacation target.s
