As amazing as traveling is and as much as the experience often negates the negative aspects of it, there is something to be said for the fact that travel presents its issues. Everybody knows the woes of getting through airport security and having to shove all of your belongings into a carry on bag so that you don’t have to pay to check one. Everybody knows that having the middle seat is miserable and the bathrooms are impossible to get around in and they’re pretty disgusting.
Everybody knows that it’s important that you stock up on airborne and Emergen-C before, during, and after your flight because you’re in such close quarters with hundreds of strangers and you’re touching a lot of things that don’t get washed often enough, if ever. There are a million other hassles that can be named and associated with travel. Despite these hassles, people still do it, and they love every minute of it.
Just because it’s an option, here are 3 ways to cut down on some of those hassles of traveling:
Book Smarter, Not Harder
Travel has a laundry list of things you have to do in order to make it work. You’re basically uprooting your entire existence for however much time that you’re gone for, and that makes things complicated. You need a place to eat and sleep, you also should get a place that has a kitchen so that you can store and make your own food. If you book smarter and look into condos over hotels, you’ll save yourself the hassle of having to eat out all the time, you’ll be able to do laundry, and you’ll have a million other amenities that will make things easier for you. It’s really the only way to go if you’re looking to have a stress-free vacation or time away.
Check in Early
No matter what is on the itinerary for the evening and wherever you go, be sure to check in early. Do it by phone, call up the front desk, or do it through an app. You’ll save yourself a lot of time and confusion. If you show up and they don’t have your reservation you’ve wasted your time and energy, among other things. If you check in early, all the problems get solved before they become problems.
Don’t Rent A Car, Call An Uber
A massive hassle associated with travel is transporation. How are you going to get around? If you’re not 25, renting a car is not only expensive, it’s unpleasant, and even if you’re practiced in the world of renting vehicles, you’ll stand in line for an hour at least once you arrive to your destination. To avoid the expense, and save yourself time, you should ditch the rent a car and call an uber to get to where you need to go instead. Uber is not as expensive as a cab so if all you need it for is to get to and from the airport and to and from major tourist destinations, just call the uber. It’s better all around.
