FIVE MUST DO ACTIVITIES IN PHUKET, THAILAND

August 25, 2017 by Paul

Thailand has to be one of the most popular and widely known tourist destinations in the whole world. From backpacker to luxury travellers alike, the beautiful sandy white beaches, the incredible islands and the awesome food of this place are adored by almost every tourist. Among Thailand’s numerous destinations and places to visit, Phuket is the biggest and the busiest destination for tourists in the whole of Thailand. From great beaches to amazing activities to a bustling nightlife – Phuket has all the necessary pleasures to please any traveller. Just book your villa in Thailand, relax at the beaches of Phuket, indulge in the various activities and watersports, interact with fellow travellers and enjoy the nightlife. There are a lot of things to do in Phuket. Just make sure to check out these 5 must do activities in Phuket, and you can be sure to have the best time in Thailand.

1. Head to Patong Beach

Probably the most popular beach of Thailand, Patong Beach always remains full of people and energy. A trip here will give you a sense of the new Thailand which has grown on the power of its tourism and tourism only. A mecca for travellers, Patong Beach has a lot of beach shacks, bars and restaurants for you to relax. You can also take part in the various water sports or enjoy the great nightlife while you are here. However for its huge popularity, Patong Beach remains crowded almost every day throughout the year, so keep that in mind if you don’t like touristy places.

2. Go on a Cruise Ride around Phang Nga Bay

The Phang Nga Bay is famous for its limestone cliffs and rock formations, as well as mangrove forests and small islands. The best way to explore all of these beauties is to go on a cruise ride through the emerald-green waters dotted with coral reefs. You’ll feel like you have found paradise while you glide through these waters. Also, take some time to relax on the quaint little beaches on these islands. One of the islands is Koh Tapu, popular as James Bond Island for its appearance in a Bond film. Koh Phanak Island is also worth visiting for its lagoons and caves.

3. Trip to Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Park

The Khao Phra Thaeo Conservation Development and Extension Center focuses on preserving the environment, and it contains a wildlife park where you get to see a lot of endangered animals. The dense jungle is made up of huge trees, and there’s floating restaurant located above the mangroves. Also, do not miss the Nam Tok Sai waterfall located near the park headquarters.

4. Visit the Viewpoints

For many alternative travellers, visiting the well-known viewpoints may seem like a too much touristy thing to do. However, the 10 viewpoints that Phuket boasts of, truly offer some of the most amazing panoramic views of the city. The most mentionable one is the ‘Karon Viewpoint’. Although it is the second most popular viewpoint of Phuket, still the eight-kilometre vista of the three west coast beaches that you can experience from here is certainly one of the most iconic images of Phuket.

Trip to Similan Islands

It takes about three hours to reach Similan Islands from Phuket, but making it a day journey is well worth it. If you are a diver, then it may as well be your top priority while you’re in Phuket. This area has some of best diving spots in the whole world. Topping that off is the bizarre yet stunning topography of the island, which will surely take your breath away.
