Packing to travel

March 14, 2016 by Paul

What’s one thing you do when you travel? Regardless of whether you are going on a one day trip. A five-day trip or you’re going to be away for a month, you have to take some clothes with you. Most people probably think that a flight attendant only wears his uniform, but in fact, we do pack a small suitcase even for the shortest of trips. We always know what our destination is, so we pack accordingly.

These dауѕ, travel іѕ become сhеареr аnd сhеареr. Evеn thе соѕt оf іntеrnаtіоnаl flights іѕ coming dоwn. Thе іntеrnеt рrоvіdеѕ uѕ ассеѕѕ tо airlines all around the world, both ѕmаll аnd major. The other day my schedule came through and it showed that I would be spending, at least, two nights in Madrid. One of the things I always do is check what the weather will be like in the destination country. Getting dressed for departure is easy because that simply means putting on my flight attendant’s uniform. However, with a scheduled two-day stopover in Madrid, I was going to need some casual clothes, an extra pair of shoes, and my jogging kit. I possess two suitcases and an overnight bag and in this case, I needed the slightly bigger suitcase to be able to carry all the necessary items.

The other consideration was whether I would be going out on an evening to a restaurant or a club. Seeing that the destination city was Madrid, it was more than likely the gang would want to step out for a bite to eat as well as catch up on a bit of music and dancing and a couple of drinks at a local club. Whoever it was that invented T-shirts is an absolute genius. T-shirts have always been considered casual dress, but the way some of them are made these days they can almost be regarded as smart casual. I’m not sure how many T-shirts I’ve got, but my mum always keeps my cupboard full of freshly ironed and washed shirts and my biggest problem is making a choice of which ones to pack.

I think I have T-shirts going back more than five years and I still consider three or four of the timeworn ones to be rather fashionable albeit pretty tatty. Some of my t-shirt collection has actually been custom made so, of course, I want to wear them all the time! Sometimes I am scrambling through my cupboard looking for one of my old T-shirts that I can wear to go down to the pub to have a few drinks with the guys. My mother, bless her, must be throwing out some of my old T-shirts without my knowledge. Most of the times I am totally unaware of which T-shirt might be missing because I have so many. This must be mum’s way of making sure that I am neatly dressed and not looking like something the cat has dragged in. If you see how often you actually wear a T-shirt, you can quickly understand why you need a cupboard full of at least 10 good ones.
