Revisiting the Cheap Flights Discussion

February 22, 2021 by Paul

If only finding the best flight ticket was as easy as searching for the best mobile casino. It can be made considerably easier if you know where, when and how to search though…

Before reading on, please know that some carriers’ fares are listed with the price of the destination including all taxes and fees. I did not add those. Also, there is not a huge difference in price between the cheapest destinations and the best destinations. So if you have a specific destination in mind that you are not sure about, you can also find these at the cheapest airports and choose the destination that will allow you to fly the cheapest to your actual destination.

Even though Singapore Airlines is the budget airline of choice, I do not recommend flying Singapore Airlines unless you know that you are comfortable flying to Singapore. Singapore has some of the best airlines in the world but the quality of service and service in general is not on par with the rest of the airlines that I compared. I am not saying Singapore is not a good airline or that Singaporeans are bad people, but Singapore is expensive, and if you are looking for a cheap fare, Singapore is not the place to go. If Singapore is on your list of destinations, you may want to check out the other airlines that are less expensive.

I compared Singapore Airlines with AirAsia to see which had the best fares for a short trip and one or both of the airlines were better. Singapore Airlines had the lowest cost for my short trip to London and the same fare was available for either Singapore Airlines or Singapore Air, and if you have some flexibility on your travel dates, you can choose the one that works best for you.

When I flew with Singapore Airlines, it was very quiet and comfortable, but my first impression after arriving in London and catching the train was that it was not very well run and some of the staff was rude. It was still a very cheap ticket and reasonable, just not as great as Singapore Airlines. I have also had a bad experience with Singapore Air while flying from Singapore to London. It was extremely stressful, the staff was rude, and I was forced to wait in line in the airport for over an hour, so the only reason that Singapore Air is not on the list of cheap destinations for my short trips is because Singapore Airlines is not just a budget airline but is a very good airline with a huge reputation. I have not had a bad experience with Singapore Air at all. Overall, Singapore Airlines was the cheap choice for a trip to London, but with Singapore Air you could also fly to New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Miami, or Rome.

Recommended Airline for Europe

If you want to get the best deal for your money, I recommend flying over Singapore Airlines unless you really know what you are doing. There is a good chance that you will get to London quicker by flying over Singapore Airlines, but it is not as easy and fast as flying to London with Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines is really not the cheapest or the easiest to get to Europe, so that was not the most cost effective option for me. If you fly over Singapore Air and you have some flexibility in your travel dates, you may find it much easier to get from London to any of the other places I listed and enjoy a more comfortable flight. For any longer trip, I would go with Singapore Airlines instead of Singapore Air.
